This is a busy fun hardworking jungle hostel. Our volunteers contribute their creative energy and talent at our busy jungle hostel. We are located in the Panamanian highlands (on the main road between both oceans) on more than 30 acres of rain forest (cloud forest) and re-purposed organic coffee farm. Because it is one of the only pieces of titled land, the community is looking to us alone to develop tourism. We are the deepest private reserve within the La Fortuna nature park. We host backpackers, volunteers, scientists, nature enthusiasts, birders etc. Because we want to employ as many persons from the local community as possible, volunteers are not simply used to cut down our labor costs. Minimum commitment length we are looking for from volunteers is 1 month We look forward to sharing the experience of living in the jungle with you. We are in the Lonely Planet book in both the Central America on a shoestring book as well as the Panama book. Our hostel has very favorable reviews...

We need daily help with housekeeping, cleaning and some gardening (with me or my hubby so no gardening experience needed). Generally after a girl helper as our kids are more comfortable with that. Someone who is able to muck in with whatever we need and likes cleaning!! We offer accommodation in our modern German caravan, with heating, wifi, meals (brekkie lunch items in caravan) and dinner is whatever we have as a family that evening. So sorry we generally can’t cater for special food requirements. The caravan has a microwave toaster kettle but you can’t cook in it. The picture is not the exact caravan but the type we have. This is in exchange for 4 hours help daily. Sometimes less depending on the day or your circumstances and usually always mornings. Bathroom and shower and toilet is in the main house. We...

It`s been over 10 years now that we are participating in programs like this. We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends. Also our neighbors and others in the village enjoy the exchange. They are always up for a small talk, which is great for you to practice your German! About us: We have organic breed Wagyu Beef (the most expensive meat in the world). There are 3 Horses, a Pig, Chicken, Dogs and a bunch of Cats that are also part of the Farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden. There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows.. Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature. It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak English. Ho...

Hi everyone! Available May - October. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! ABOUT US: We're a couple, in our early 60s. Healthy, active and young at heart. We've travelled all our adult lives, done loads of helpx-type placements (mainly in NZ, UK, Thailand and SA), and we've been self-employed for almost all of our working lives (teaching, music festival boutique, and Julie is still a professional horse trainer). We have eased-off now but still seem to be pretty busy. We love being active and involved, (yoga, karate, mtb, horse training, tennis, walking, running, exploring), and we love hosting on Helpx - it's a great way to keep meeting new people, keep learning new stuff, and getting help with other stuff! We offer abundant healthy food, and a really lovely, clean, comfy, sweet home with a good vibe. There's lots to see and do locally. WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT: Over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skil...

Come and join us, we believe it's one of the most beautiful parts of Australia. We are approx. 4 hours north of Cairns near Cooktown. There is always something happening but our farm is also tranquil and relaxing. The area is often referred to as, 'The last frontier', due to the extreme weather & wildlife and the area is filled with a lot of history. We had a natural disaster with excessive flooding in December. Still work to be done though it is labour intensive and physical including constructing fences and cleaning up plant nurseries. The heat has settled a bit but still a challenge. A whole different experience if you are keen to give us a go. We need helpers who are fairly fit, outgoing, and willing to experience a very different lifestyle. We especially want you if you have INITIATIVE, can work INDEPENDENTLY and INTUITIVELY. We welcome, men and women, from anywhere in the world and some understanding of English is preferred. In exchange for a great work ethic plus a littl...

I live alone in a large house in Veyrin, a very very small village, in a very nice countryside in France between Lyon and Chambery, not fare from Grenoble, Annecy. Genève is 1h30 driving. I'm looking for non-smokers helpers who could help me 4h/day in my organic garden or helping me to welcome holidaymakers in my gite and pilgrims from St Francois d'Assise. You will have your own bedroom. The common kitchen is to be shared with everybody. I can speak English. If you are sportive we can lend you a bicycle to visit around. The first town is 12km from Veyrin. I have a cat. I don't accept others pets. Please contact me if you want more details. You can also have a look on my website https://gitebaudille.wixsite.com/gite Looking forward meeting you.

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables and fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the winter months. We love company of other people, and love having visitors. There would be plenty of chances to be alone, if that is what one is looking for. We are both retired teachers that would be happy to help you improve your knowledge of English. We offer homestay experience. We can lend you a bicycle to do your own exploring, you can hike, take a bus or train to go further afield. We also like to explore the area and show it to our visitors. We are located 10km from Spain. We have fibre internet. We would cook together or take turns (so make sure you can cook some interesting vegetarian dish...

We are a Cage-free Cottage Dog Lifestyle Pet Resort near Huntsville in the heart of Muskoka. We are just 15 minutes from Arrowhead Provincial Park and a 45-minute drive from world-renowned Algonquin Provincial Park, where you might want to hike trails, check their visitor centre, wolf howls, and maybe try outdoor camping or a canoe trip from almost our backyard. Muskoka is one of Canada's top Cottage capitals, with over 1,000 pristine lakes. Our property has many ponds and is located in the spring-fed kettle lakes hills that supply fresh water to Lake of Bays. Just steps away are four small lakes with blue heron rookeries, where moose, whitetail deer and other wildlife come for a drink. Those who love watching wildlife in their natural habitat will love our beautiful woodlands and lakes. As will those who enjoy fishing or bird watching. There are lots of hiking trails and beaches you can walk, swim at and enjoy. We have bikes, and it is just 6km from Huntsville, where you can find in...

Hi we need someone from mid Sept 2024 onwards - sorry we do not need any helpers before this date! We are a family of 4 - myself and my hubby and our two young daughters.

Hi there 🙂 We are, Deb and Mark, Noah (21yrs) and 14 year old Grace. We also have another young adult son (Caleb 23yrs) who no longer lives here, but pops in regularly. Mark is a production manager at Air New Zealand and I home school Grace (formally a mental health nurse and volunteer coordinator for the local food bank). We live on 20 acres of land with cows, sheep, chickens, a rabbit, a budgie, two cats (Squeak and Sophie) Wilson the dog and three horses called Kalia, Frosty, and Jed. Accommodation is in your own warm and cosy cabin with toilet (just a few metres from the house) Lots of lovely walks nearby. All meals provided (healthy, tasty and nutritious) and in exchange, we'd like some help with gardening and perhaps a bit of painting and cleaning (4 hours per day, and the day off on Sundays 🙂) The town centre has a library, large supermarket, farmer's market, banks, post office, pharmacy, gift shops and cafes and bars etc. Biking distance to the beach (3 kms) and local...

We live on a beautiful sheep and beef farm between Greta Valley and Cheviot. We live on the coast at Napenape beach a beautiful beach for photography, walking, surf casting and diving. We are only a few kilometres away from the popular surf/swimming beach called Gore Bay. We are also very close to the Hurunui River which is well known for its trout and salmon fishing as well as kayaking. There are plenty of walking tracks near our farm. We have a small feijoa orchard and a large vegetable garden. We try hard to live off our land and love to entertain with friends. We have had over 40 different sets of helpers and really enjoyed making new friends and sharing some of our kiwi culture with them. we are very flexible with jobs and try to match the right job with the right person. We love living on a farm and are keen to share our skills with those interested in trying some new things. We are flexible with the hours worked and the jobs done. All meals will be included. Can pick u...
