Hello! How are you? My name is Andy and I've been hosting people for years now with Helpx and other organisations. I appreciate spending my time with people who like me want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who are self-transparent, who have common interests, who care about others and who want to learn more about themselves. I have learned a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues. I am a well-educated person who believes life is a continual learning experience. I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good movie and watching documentaries. I am interested in matters of environmental sustainability, climate change, current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy and technology. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and of course to have as much fun as life allows me. I live here with my partner Joe who is also an experienced travell...

I am a retired secondary school teacher and I love gardening, singing and playing guitar, hiking, presenting on community radio and travelling. I live in a lovely historic cottage on a large block with a permanent creek a few minutes walk from the centre of Willunga in South Australia. Willunga is a small country town in a wine growing region and is famous for its cafes and Saturday morning Farmers Market. My home is about 45 mins south of Adelaide and a short drive to the beach. We are a young, relaxed family building our off-grid home and subsistent lifestyle on a 47 acre property in the heart of the Otways. Backing on to the Otway National Park, we offer helpers a beautiful location to explore the surrounding forests and coastal regions of South-Western Victoria (12 Apostles, numerous waterfalls, hiking, beaches, etc.). In return for your help, we hope to share the skills and knowledge we've gained thus far in off-grid living, carpentry, gardening, composting, beer-making, sustainable living techniques, and local ecology. We hope to find helpers who are interested in assisting us to progress the build of our home, nurturing our garden and orchard, developing forest walking tracks, dam jetty, stone wall, shed loft flooring, or further dreaming and scheming about what other facilities we can create! Our family includes two daughters (five and two) and a KelpieX called Ten O'Clock. This opportunity is ideal for person, couple or family with own living space suc...

Derek and Kelly here - hailing from South Africa we've lived in Queensland for 4 years and recently relocated to beautiful, cold, remote and super friendly Tasmania! We're city folk who've just bought our new rural home on 4ha / 8 acres. 15 minutes from Scottsdale (a good sized small town), 30 min to seaside Bridport, 40 min to Launceston and a gorgeous drive to seaside St Helens. 5 min to Bridestow lavender fields (in bloom 2 months a year) There's minimal public transport with a daily bus into and out from Launceston closer by so own transport is recommended if you would like to sight see and tour Tassie. We have a queen sized bed for you (single or couple) a shared bathroom, kitchen, living area and outside deck An indoor fireplace and one on the patio outside for cold days. Our cat owns the home, our chickens lay eggs regularly and we're still working on our relationship with our sheep. We are learning as we go so not super organised and no heap of fancy equipment to do the...

I invite all travellers who are 'self contained' in a camper van, car with caravan/camper trailer or vehicle with tent etc to visit here. If you stay and help me I can show you this unique coastal area...., the hidden places that very few people get to see ! If you'd like to stay in nature..., and are looking for that special place in a bush location, but also very close to the coast, this could be the place for you. I cannot provide accommodation or meals, but I do have private campsites already a set-up - including stretched out tarp shelter, water to a sink, tables/chairs and metal fire places. There's flushing toilet and rainwater showers just a short walk away. I can provide an ice box and ice to store your food in. Helpers helping out here are able to help themselves to my veggie/herb garden(only take what you need). I can also provide information on best local surfing, diving, fishing, 4WD tracks and conditions for any weather pattern ! I can also sometimes find work in this...

We are a enthusiastic Dutch vegetarian ecological family with 7 happy young home schooled children. Our house, which is alongside a beautiful river with natural swimming pools , is some 10km away from the nearest village. There are 60 hectares of land stretching way up into the wild mountains. We have many animals; horses, donkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, goats..... We make organic bread and jams, and live a life of simplicity. We like to share our life and work with enthusiastic people willing to be involved and to share. Our day rhythm is ruled by weather, enthusiasm, mood,.. and work is more popping up than planned, so we're not counting hours (and weekdays don't exist here). Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help. GENERAL INFORMATION We grow most of our own vegetables. The project is focused on helping school kids learning about environmental issues, plants and their benefits and adults who want to evaluate various organic gardening methods as well as other workshops and weekend events. We would welcome people who like to help in this endeavour and if in synch with our lifestyle help them build their own dome or house. We usually have 1-2 volunteers permanent and I am there 5 days a week. We can provide vegetarian food, but not always cooking in exchange for work. We now have completed the building and have 2 rooms for guests with one double bunkbed and kingsize space, 3 bathrooms (1 outside). We practice yoga and meditation every day which I offer to teach. People with permaculture pre-knowledge / experience or youth facilitators are ideal for this project. We may embark on some larger projects in this regard if we get sponsors. Spanish speaking would be good of course.

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three active children, two horses, many chickens, and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable. Jobs involve general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience email us with some details of the work you have previously done. We have separate accommodation, with a bathroom. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter). There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village called Cygnet and Hobart is only a 40min drive away. (Unfortunately we can't approve second year visas)

Lovely creative family home overlooking the sea in Castlecliff beach, part of the wild west coast of New Zealand. We are looking for help with the garden, some digging, pruning and cleaning up and other maintenance. I like to use natural methods of gardening so its hands-on work, so you need to be able to handle some heavy physical work and in most weather. There is inside work too, cleaning tidying etc. Also wanting to upgrade a chicken cope too so would be good to have someone with building skills. Hello Potential Volunteers My name is Paul and it was my dream to change my lifestyle from being an office worker to becoming an alpaca farmer.... here we are 14 years later with 100 alpacas, each individually cherishes with names and unique personalities, plus an assortment of other animals all needing our love :) I have three children: Liam (21), Dylan (9) and Oscar (6), and our 100-acre farm is home to approx.100 alpacas, plus llamas, peacocks, hens, mini pigs, a cat named Sexy, and our farm dog Malta. This year we are expecting 20 'cria' (baby alpacas) and each one will need our help so they can thrive! We need to ensure they get colostrum (filled with antibodies and vital for good health) – have they fed from their mums within the first 24hrs? Are they then drinking enough milk from their mums every day? Are they gaining weight? The well-being of my animals is the most important thing on the farm. Do they have good food and enough water, and the best possible natural environme...

Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, douglas firs, maples and alder trees. You can often see deer, raccoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for steelhead fish. As well, our neighborhood is the access point to many scenic nature hiking/ walking and biking trails. There’s woodland above and it’s in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty backing on to the Toadsmoor valley. The house is 35 mins walk from Stroud town centre. There are a few shops in the village as well as a pub nearby. The house is surrounded with the hills and countryside on your doorstep and lovely views. From the garden...great for forest walks and exploring the Cotswolds. English, Spanish and French is spoken. Freedom loving and awake household. I have my young daughter who lives with me half the week.. We aim to work an average of 5 hours per day, 5 days p/week. The work is varied but currently there are raised beds to make for growing vegetables, a chicken run to make, chickens to feed and care for, gardening, cooking or generally helping with whatever task is being done at the time, though no need of experience as I'm happy to teach techniques. ...

Hi, my name is marianne. I live on a classic New Zealand "tree quarter acre section" on a north facing (all day sun) hobbit hill, looking down to Oamaru and from my kitchen window or climbing up the jungle hill behind the cottage, you can look at the sea and watch the sunrise. A 10 minute stroll down Eden Street gets you either to the CBD or to the shoreline. I have hosted members of the HelpX community before but after five years of absence I had to start a new account. I am still in the prolonged process of moving back in as during my absence house and gardens have been badly damaged physically and spiritually; the Hobbit-type energy of love, care and humorous presence had been chased away! Moving back in takes so long because of the repairing, re-loving and improving house and garden, room by room, garden patch by by garden patch. With my double bed guest room and with my huge lounge refurbished, (lounge is fit for more than two friends or a family or a yoga space), I am happy to ...

I can provide a room within my house for one or two people and delicious vegetarian meals in exchange for working with me on improving my organic garden and my small cut flower business. I prefer helpers that wish to stay for a few days up to one week. If you are interested in staying please email your phone number and I will contact you.

Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River on Vancouver Island, is a beautiful place to experience opening December- Winter of 2023 and Vancouver Island`s great outdoors!!! The helper accommodation is a double room in a 200 year old cotswold stone house located in a small village near Stroud.
